Cubs
Personal Interest Badges
Interest
Badges, or Challenge Badges, are the badges that Cubs wear on
the back of their fleeces. They show particular interests, projects,
hobbies or skills that the Cub has developed over time and the
wearing of these is a statement of achievement and ability.
Cubs should wear their Personal Interest badges with pride!
Although
sometimes we shall do these badges together as a Pack at Cub
Meetings, more often these badges are pursued by each Cub in
their own time, and often are completed at home. Whilst the
signing off of a badge needs to be done by a Cub Leader, parents
can get involved with the assessment of individual stages of
the badge. Click on the links below to download a Word document
version of the requirements of the badge to print out so you
can help your Cub to get going with their next badge! Here is
where the badges go:
Interest
Badges go on the back of the fleece, at the top. Event Badges
go on the lower half of the back of the fleece. The basic layout
for the badges on the front of the fleece is as shown. Sixer
badges go immediately below the purple World Membership
badge and camping Badges are worn below the NZ Flag badge.
Award scheme badges and the Outdoor Adventure Award go on the left sleeve of the shirt.
Ben
Holt & Benjamin Jones with their badges after three years
in Cubs
Ben H achieved 35 interest badges, Ben J achieved 31 - and both
obtained many activity & participation badges
Ask
Akela for details if you are interested in doing these badges
and then ask
your parents to help train and test you on the
requirements.
